Thomas Harrell is a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) for New Horizons South Florida. New Horizons is the world’s largest independent IT training company with 300 centers in 70 countries. Over the last five years, Thomas trained thousands of government employees, business leaders, and professionals in several industries on the most effective use of Microsoft desktop applications. As a MCT for New Horizons, his performance consistently ranks in the top 1% of the 1500 Applications Instructors. His excellent skills as a trainer and facilitator earned him several Worldwide Excellence in Training Awards, an esteemed honor presented annually to only 25 instructors in the global New Horizons’ network. His prior employment history includes serving as an IT Quality Assurance specialist in the auto insurance industry as well as service in the non-profit sector.
Thomas is the author of A Rites of Passage Framework. This eBook serves as a core curriculum written to assist parents, teachers and leaders of youth organizations with the implementation of a program that will help pre-teen and teenage boys develop a healthy self-esteem and a commitment to personal growth and community responsibility.
Thomas is a member of the American Society of Training and Development Association, the National Black MBA Association -- Leaders of Tomorrow program, a Role Model for the ITWomen organization and serves as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami. Thomas is also an active member of Toastmasters International, an organization that helps its members develop public speaking and leadership skills. As a member of Toastmasters International, Thomas received special recognition for his leadership skills. He also received several awards and special recognitions as an accomplished public speaker.
Thomas, a native Floridian, resides in the City of Miami Gardens with his wife Frankie. They have two adult children and two grandchildren.
